What Does it take to be a better person/musician?
In the first days of school the Fort Atkinson Music Students put their minds together. They were asked to come up with a list of:
What are the characteristics of a good Musician?
They can up with an extensive 155 point list that includes some things you would expect like:
Then they were asked to come up with a list of:
What are the characteristics of a good Person?
Needless to say this list was fairly extensive as well. 127 Items including:
They were then asked to draw lines from one list to the other if there were items that were related. By the end the lines connecting good musician qualities, and good person qualities were just a solid trunk of a blur indiscernible from one list to the other.
It's pretty impressive what rolls through the mind of our Fort Atkinson High School Musicians... all you had to to do was ask!

- Hand eye coordination
- Fearless
- Able to express your identity
- Selfless collaboration
- Humility
